Dec 2 is the last date for submission of nomination and the papers will be screened on Dec 5-6.
Candidature can be withdrawn by Dec 13, according to the schedule.
In his recorded speech, Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad urged all the political parties to contest the the 10th parliamentary election.
He said army will be deployed during the balloting alongside regular security agencies.
No national election has been held in Bangladesh without the deployment of troops into townships since independence.
In his speech, CEC Ahmad said the commission could not wait anymore for reconciliation between the opposing coalitions because of the constitutional stipulations.
He said the his team would do everything to ensure safety of the voters.
Referring to the amended electoral code of conduct, Ahmad said important persons entitled to government facilities – such as the Prime Minister, Opposition Leader – would not be allowed to enjoy government facilities while they were engaged in election campaign.
“The code will be strictly enforced,” he said.
