But, she (opposition leader) remarked that the polls were not fair," Sheikh Hasina said posing a question to the BNP chairperson as to how her party candidates could win the polls.
"Sheikh Hasina knows how to tackle any crisis. Inshallah, We will do the same. There shall be trial of these killings one day. We are determined to do that. We will not let anybody to play with the fate of the people of Bangladesh," the Prime Minister said. Sheikh Hasina said though she requested the opposition leader not to ruin the lives of millions of children by giving call for hartal during the JSC and Primary Terminal examinations, the BNP- led opposition enforced countrywide non-stop hartal one after another to push the future of the students into utter uncertainty.
The Prime Minister said, "The verdict in Bangabandhu Killing Case has been executed. The verdict in the BDR Mutiny has also been handed down. The International Crimes Tribunals have been delivering the verdict against the war criminals. Whatever might be her efforts, the opposition leader can't be able to save the war criminals. We will free the nation from an age-old stigma by completing the trial of the war criminals."
The Awami League president said, "Awami League believes in democracy and the people's fundamental rights including their right to vote. We have brought amendment to the constitution so that none could play with the people's fate anymore following assumption of the state power by violating the constitution."
"We are working relentlessly as we want to free the people from the curse of poverty ensuring their better life. We want their children to be raised as real human beings," the Prime Minister said urging her huge audience to give their mandate in favour of Awami League again in the next election to help her government to complete its unfinished tasks.
Taltali Upazila unit Awami League organised the public rally with its president Fazlul Huq Mazumdar in the chair. The rally was also addressed, among others, by Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan, AL joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, information and research affairs secretary Advocate Afzal Hossain and Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu, MP.
