The government has provided Bhutan a total of 258 types of medicines worth $2.36 million as donation.

Health Minister Mohammed Nasim handed over some of the medicines to the Bhutanese Ambassador to Bangladesh at the Secretariat on Monday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during her Bhutan visit in 2017, pledged to provide medicine for Bhutan Trust Fund for one year, Nasim said.

“The medicines were donated as per the promise of Prime Minister. A total of 258 types of medicines from 71 companies will be sent to Bhutan on September”, he said.

The relationship between Bangladesh and Bhutan will get much closer by the initiative, he added.
